ABOUT THE COURSE
Course Objective: The Occupational Hearing Conservationist (formerly known as the industrial
audiometric technician) meets industry's needs to provide training and certification for
hearing conservationists.
Occupational Hearing Conservationist
Training and Practicum: Will include exposure to manual,
automatic and microprocessor audiometers. Generous time allotments have been
provided for practice and counseling to assure registrants ample opportunity to develop
proficiency. All material covered will be in accordance with CAOHC guidelines.
Upon successful completion of this course, participants will be eligible
for certification as Occupational Hearing Conservationists from the Council for
Accreditation in Occupational Hearing Conservation.
This continuing nursing education activity was
approved by the Massachusetts Association of Registered Nurses, Inc.,
an accredited approver by the American Nurses Credentialing Center's
commission on accreditation.
RECERTIFICATION COURSE
Full opportunity will be provided for questions and
answers and discussions of problems. The recertification course is intended to cover
questions and answers in specific areas plus problems encountered in field work.
Bring audiograms for comparative study. NOTE: Participants should bring their
current CAOHC certificates with them for validation. Revised CAOHC manuals are
available for purchase.
